New layout!!!!

I loved the graphics in the other layout, but it really was too dark for me.  It made me seem like all of my posts have been depressing (maybe have been anyway).  But, I think I love this one even more.  We'll see how long this one lasts.

Ana Maureeda!!!!!

That's the best I could do with transliteration.  I am sick.  I have a cold.  It's not the worst cold I've had; nowhere near as bad as the one I had last year this time.  It's also not as bad as whatever I had this past summer.  Basically I spend my days sneezing and blowing my nose.  I've had slight headaches, but nothing major.  Half the time I can actually breathe through my nose.  Today's the first time I've spent most of the day with a stuffy nose.  At any rate, remember when I was worried about how well I'd do on my paper for that one class.  Well, I'm now just as worried about the revision.  Why?  Because I really didn't have anything to revise; and if I did, I didn't know what to revise.  I basically did some rewording, corrected some spelling, and changed the title (which the professor probably won't like).  But honestly, what was I supposed to revise if he liked everything.  And hell, if he liked it, I loved it.  Now I have to do another revision for another paper I just got back.  I was very pleased with the grade, and I'm hoping that I can turn spark a mentor-type relationship with both of these professors.  I feel like I need to step it up with my comments during class discussion, though.  As a matter of fact, I should probably start by actually doing the readings.  I'm hoping to get some done today for my class on Tuesday.  I better; I told him to feel free to call on me!

Feelin' Good

Wow, so after having a pretty downer of a Sunday worrying about school, today couldn't have been better.  That's a complete overstatement, but I did receive a paper back today and my professor loved it.  Absolutely. loved. it.  It really is a huge compliment coming from him; he's one of the few professor's who've inspired me and whom I respect.  I really hope to keep going above and beyond in his class (and at least this one other professor's who I think I'm slightly disappointing right now) and to build a lasting mentor-type relationship with him.  But, that requires me to stay focused (in those classes at least) and to produce good work.  And so that's what I'm gonna try to do.  Try to make an impression in these two classes, try to do really well in my other classes, take the GRE, apply to grad school, and graduate.  It's a great feeling to know that you're steps have been ordered.  Even when you are your biggest doubter.

Playing with layouts

Okay, so I slept waaaay in today.  I woke up around 12:30pm, which I guess is forgivable seeing as though I do wake up at a decent hour (usually before 8am) Monday-Saturday.  It was a gloomy/rainy day.  Such a bummer after yesterday's sunshine and (relatively) warm weather.

I honestly can't tell you what I spent today doing.  I know that I pulled out one of my storage bins that I've been wanting to go through for the past two days.  Then I played around with various layouts.  There was one that I loved, but none of the font colors showed up against that background.  This current one is very similar.  I love it, thought not as much as the other one.  I really love how vibrant the graphic is, but it's a little too dark.  I decided that I'm gonna start taking more pictures and making pretty little things out of them.  I have a friend that's interested in photography, so I think a trip down to the botanical gardens is in order.

I also made chocolate peanut-butter banana soft serve that was both heavenly and surprisingly filling.  I had to force myself to eat it all because I didn't want to put it back in the freezer and forget about it.  I not much of a sweets fan, and when I do crave sweets they're usually of the decadent sort.  So this was a rare occasion for me and I suspected I wouldn't really be up for having some later.  And it seems not five minutes ago I looked at the clock and it was just after 8pm; now, it's 10 til 9.  FOR WHY?!?!?  The good thing about my weekends is that I don't have class on Friday and I only have one afternoon class on Mondays.  Hopefully I'll actually get some work done tomorrow and have a low-stress rest of the year.  My focuses now are taking the GRE, increasing my GPA (or at the very least def. not decreasing it, which may be a possibility given some reason assignments), graduating, and getting into grad school.  I'm just in a deep state of mental fatigue, and have been for ages now.  Years under stressful situations and feeling lost and confused will do that to a person.  I really wish I could go on a mini-retreat after graduation, then go to grad school and kick ass.  Who knows.  The Universe does, and since we're on good terms I'm hoping it has my back.

Why do I want to blog?

I started asking myself this question after writing my last post.  Considering the fact that I signed up for this blog nearly 2 years ago and have yet to make the commitment to update regularly, it's really not clear why I would even want to blog.  I guess the answer is that because I visit so many blogs daily and spend most of my internet time on various blogs, I always think that it would be fun to share my thoughts and ideas.  But in actuality, I'm really private and protective about those things.  So then I'll write a post and second-guess if I want to publish it or not.  After a few cycles of that, it just becomes tiresome and boring.

But it's weird because I assume no one will read my blog anyway, and pretty much consider it an online journal.  So you would think it wouldn't matter if I published my thoughts or not, given my assumption.  At any rate, since  I still keep returning to this idea of having a blog, might as well right something on it.

But what?  IDK.  Here are 5 things off the top of my head:

1) I feel really icky right now.  I want to sip on hot broth and take a nap.
2) I just played around in my hair and am about 80% sure that I want to cut it this summer. We've been having a love-hate relationship lately and I'm about fed up with it.
3) I'm still learning and formulating my ideas regarding living a healthy lifestyle.  It's pretty much me-centric, though, since I am a firm believer that a healthy lifestyle is subject to the individual and there is no one true way.  I'm hoping to share more on that after I read a couple of books on my wish-list.
4) I'm a sloth.  I have no idea how I will achieve my goals because I'm soooo lazy.  I think it's just a matter of me taking some time to heal and refocus.  It's been a long, stressful 4 years and I'm just tired.  Maybe that will be the focus on my journaling on this blog, to keep up with how I go about reaching my goals.
5) I was gonna put a picture of myself on here, but realized that I lost them all after my computer crashed.  Maybe I'll just wait until after I cut my hair???

Okay, so that's about it.

Well, it took me two years...

but I've finally decided that I might actually start blogging.  Might is the operative word here.  As in I might also decide not to for another two years.  I do know that I will have a lot of free time come this May (graduation month).  But hopefully not too much since I do have some plans/dreams that I'm hoping to actualize.  In due time, turtle, in due time.
